About Suparee Car Lights Product Issues

General Installation

FAQ: Will it be okay with an older car?
  • In general, even if your car is old, if you can secure the bulb shape and ensure normal voltage, installation is possible as long as there is enough installation space. However, if the durability of components like the alternator (generator) or battery on the car has expired, the supplied voltage may become unstable, leading to issues like non-lighting or flickering.
  • In such cases, replacing the alternator or battery may improve the situation. Also, if the car model you plan to install has a special dimming system or other special specifications, there may be a possibility that the lights will not light up properly.
  • We recommend that you consult a professional installer or similar specialist for installation confirmation.

FAQ: What is Lumen, Kelvin, and Candela?
  • Lumen and Candela are indicators of brightness, and Kelvin is an indicator of color. Lumen refers to light output, and it is the most commonly used unit to express "brightness." For LED bulbs, this unit is usually indicated on almost all packaging. A higher lumen value indicates a brighter light, but in the case of headlights, it is important to consider "how far it illuminates the road surface." Instead of making judgments based solely on numerical values, it is important to carefully review the manufacturer's explanations.
  • Candela refers to luminous intensity, and it is a unit that expresses the "strength of light" emitted from a light source. When measuring this value, the bulb is installed in a headlight, and the highest intensity of light reflected on a 10m/25m wall is measured.
  • While "luminous intensity" is an important criterion for good products, it is not the only one. There might be issues with too much light leaking upwards, causing glare for oncoming vehicles. Therefore, "proper light distribution" is important.
  • Kelvin is indeed an indicator of color temperature.

What are the disadvantages of aftermarket lights?
  • If you install bulbs with a high Kelvin rating, visibility may be reduced during bad weather conditions such as rain or fog.
  • These lights are not genuine, but rather generic products, so compatibility with your vehicle may be an issue.

LED Headlights

The LED is not turning on

A:Our LED bulbs (such as T10, T20, etc.) sold by our company have polarity (+, -). There is a possibility that the polarity may be reversed upon installation, so it may be necessary to insert them in the opposite direction. Additionally, depending on the vehicle, there may be instances where the terminal parts do not make proper contact. In such cases, spreading out the terminal parts outward may result in normal lighting.

Can LED bulbs be installed on OEM LED fog lights?

A:We offer glass lens units for select vehicles. By replacing the lens unit, it becomes possible to replace the bulb. However, we kindly ask you to confirm if your vehicle is compatible.

Is it abnormal for the rear part of LED headlights to become quite hot?

A:Our LED headlight units, which we sell, are equipped with fins for heat dissipation generated during operation. Due to the heat dissipation from these fins, it is normal for the rear part to become hot.

My 6-level dimmable LED room lamp does not switch brightness levels. What should I do?

Relevant Product:Depending on the size and shape of the room lamp, the remote control receiver may be set too deep in some vehicle models, preventing the remote control from adjusting the brightness of all lamps. In such cases, please aim directly at each lens section and press the button. Please note that even products sold as 16-level dimmable LED room lamps may include parts that are not dimmable, so please be aware of this in advance.Additionally, the battery originally installed in the remote control is for operation check purposes and may have a short lifespan. Please try replacing the battery. If your issue is not resolved with the above information, please contact us through the inquiry form.

Genuine HID Replacement Bulbs

 What is color temperature (Kelvin)?

A1: Color temperature (Kelvin) is a numerical representation of the color of light, measured in Kelvins (K). The higher the color temperature, the bluer (or cooler) the light appears, while lower color temperatures result in a redder (or warmer) light.

The glass inside the bulb has discolored. What does this mean?

A1-Relevant Product: This concerns bulbs that contain several types of metal halides within the lighting tube, which evaporate to produce light. However, some substances may not fully evaporate and can adhere to the inside of the lighting tube. If you notice discoloration, such as brown or white, this is a characteristic of HID bulbs and is not considered a defect. Please rest assured. If your issue is not resolved with the above information, please contact us through the inquiry form.

The color of the bulbs on the left and right are different. What should I do?

Relevant Product:We inspect and ship each set of bulbs according to our company's standard values. However, if the colors are extremely different, we will provide a replacement if it is within the warranty period after our confirmation. Please contact us for assistance.Additionally, differences in color between kits (set units) can occur due to individual bulb variations and manufacturing periods. Even bulbs with the same Kelvin rating may have slight color differences. Please understand that this is not considered a product defect and is not covered by the warranty. If your issue is not resolved with the above information, please contact us through the inquiry form.

HID Kits

I want to install an H3 HID kit, but I can't find the vehicle's negative power terminal. What should I do?

HID Kit Single

Due to the specifications of H3 halogen bulbs, there may not be a negative power terminal on the vehicle side. The metal base of an H3 halogen bulb acts as the negative terminal, with a single positive terminal protruding. Consequently, the lens unit itself may serve the role of negative earth, and there might not be a wiring lead for this purpose. In such cases, if there is a negative earth terminal connected to the lens unit, you should connect to it. Otherwise, you may need to directly connect to a metal part of the body.

Will the Fuse Blow When Switching from Halogen to HID?

Switching from halogen bulbs to HID can sometimes increase the current consumption, which may lead to the vehicle's fuse blowing. In such cases, consider replacing the fuse with one rated for approximately 15A or use a power stabilizing relay. Note that HID power-up kits cannot be used in this context.

Furthermore, if your vehicle originally uses a significantly lower rated fuse (e.g., 7.5A) like in some H16 setups, replacing it with a 15A fuse without using a power stabilizing relay could potentially damage the vehicle due to overcurrent. Always use a voltage stabilizing relay harness to prevent this.

Are They Compatible with Auto-Light and Idle Stop Systems?

Auto-Light Function Compatibility: HID systems require high voltage at the time of ignition. While normal switch ON/OFF operations allow for regular lighting, the use of auto-light may result in non-illumination in some cases. As indicated on our product pages, the installation of our product may cause malfunction of the auto-light feature in some vehicles. Therefore, at this time, vehicles equipped with auto-light are generally not supported. Please understand this limitation. Note that LED products are also not compatible.

Idle Stop Function Compatibility: Our products are not compatible with idle stop functions. Installing HID kits in vehicles equipped with an idle stop feature may result in unstable current flow to the HID kit upon resuming from idle stop, potentially causing flickering or non-illumination. We recommend using a power stabilizing relay to ensure a stable voltage supply to the HID kit. Please note that issues related to these symptoms are not covered under warranty. Additionally, even with a power stabilizing relay installed, improvement may not be guaranteed for all vehicles.
